Also, sensing political leverage, they're going to sqeeze every last drop out of this that they possibly can. Such is the state of contemporary American politics, on both sides.
.
Just for the heck of it, though, let's take a moment to think this through. Without emotion. For a change.
.
Let's say some restaurant owner decides to put up a sign that says "we don't serve black people." Is there anyone, really, who thinks that will be the end of it? That this clown will be able to go his merry, bigoted, ignorant way without repercussions? Really?
.
The fact is, word would get out like lightning and this schmuck would be immediately descended upon by the press and civil rights activists alike. Within a few hours of that sign going up, this guy would be a pariah, destroyed, toast. As it should be.
.
Why? Because the free market worked.
.
And let's say there were seven or eight local losers who thought his policy was a good idea. Then that group can hang out in that restaurant, wallowing in its collective ignorant, bigoted misery, comparing beer can tattoos. Fine. Then we'll all know precisely who and where they are.
.
The American Left knows this, even through its mind-numbing emotion. But they're still going to play this for as long as they can, because they "care" (wink wink). Paul was stupid to respond the way he did, he certainly should have known better. Unfortunately, he's not a career politician, so he hasn't learned quite how to lie, obfuscate and divert yet.

.

.

The Just In Case Act of 2010

Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine is billing his side as “The Results Party,” providing a list of all the cool things the Democrats have done in the last year:
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0410/36456.html#commentsform

.

I'd have to agree with Kaine. The Democrats have been the "results party", successfully adding piles and piles of bureaucracy to the federal government, giving more and more power to a bunch of professional politicians and their special interest cronies.

.

Here's an idea I bet Kaine and his Democrat friends will love: They should pass (via reconcilliation, of course) the Just In Case Act of 2010. This Act would create, say, 500 new bureaucracies just in case they're ever needed. Each bureaucracy would need a big, new building, so that would put a bunch of people to work. Then, we could hire about 200,000 bureaucrats to sit on their asses (no big change there) until the Democrats come up with things they could do to exert more control over the American peasants, er, populace.

.

How would we pay for it, you ask? Tax the rich more. They don't need it, don't deserve it, etc., etc.

.

Glad I could help.

.
